Peran Digital-Literacy dan Smartphone-Attitude terhadap Kualitas Hidup Generasi Baby-Boomers di Jawa Timur

The baby-boomers generation population is increasing along with the increase in the Life Expectancy Rate of the Indonesian population. As digital immigrants, using new technology is not easy for them due to various limiting factors, so their digital literacy is very low. The aim of this research is to examine and explain the influence of digital-literacy and smartphone-attitude on the quality of life in the baby-boomers generation population. The questionnaire was developed empirically from the constructs of computer-
attitude, ICT skills and WHOQOL-Old (a module for measuring the quality of life of the elderly population group). Questionnaires were distributed via Google-Form to 107 baby-boomer generation smart-phone users in East Java using Purposive Sampling technique. Based on multiple regression analysis, it was found that digital-literacy and smartphone-attitude had a partial or simultaneous influence on the quality of life of the baby-boomer generation, but smartphone-attitude had a more dominant influence. This research
found that the integration of technical and psychological factors is very important to improve the quality of life of the baby-boomer generation. Digital skills are important, but a positive attitude towards technology can modify or strengthen the effect of these skills in improving their quality of life.
Populasi generasi baby-boomers semakin bertambah seiring dengan meningkatnya Angka Harapan Hidup (AHH) penduduk Indonesia. Sebagai digital-immigrant penggunaan teknologi baru tidak mudah bagi mereka karena berbagai faktor keterbatasan, sehingga digital-literacy mereka sangat rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menguji dan menjelaskan pengaruh digital-literacy dan smartphone-attitude terhadap kualitas hidup pada kelompok generasi baby-boomers. Kuesioner dikembangkan secara empiris dari
konstruk computer-attitude, ICT skills dan WHOQOL-Old (modul untuk mengukur kualitas hidup kelompok populasi usia lanjut). Kuesioner disebarkan melalui Google-Form kepada 107 generasi baby-boomers pengguna smart-phone di Jawa Timur dengan teknik Purposive Sampling. Berdasarkan analisis regresi berganda, ditemukan bahwa digital-literacy dan smartphone-attitude berpengaruh secara pasial maupun simultan terhadap kualitas hidup generasi baby-boomers, namun smartphone-attitude mempunyai
pengaruh yang lebih dominan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa integrasi faktor teknis dan psikologis sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup generasi baby-boomers. Keterampilan digital penting, namun sikap positif terhadap teknologi dapat memodifikasi atau memperkuat efek dari keterampilan tersebut dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup mereka.
